Prostate Cancer Difficult To Detect In Obese Men

Description: A new study suggests that PSA levels in obese men may be falsely interpreted as low, causing delays in diagnosis and treatment. The study, conducted by Duke Prostate Cancer Center researchers, noted that obese men have more blood circulating in their bodies than normal weight men, and as a result the concentration of prostate-specific antigen, or PSA, in the blood can become diluted.
